Welcome to Chasing Planner Peace's 'Spotlight on a Planner' series. We aim to show the world how planning has changed people's lives and showcase the different methods people use when chasing planner peace.

This month, April 2019, we chat to Ash Newton, the owner of Plum_Mashable.

    Ash from Plum_Mashable

Please tell us a bit about yourself

Hi! I’m Ash and I am a footy mad, planner crazy girl living in the outer western suburbs of Melbourne with my husband and dog. I am originally from country South Australia, but have also lived in Sydney and in South East Queensland, so you could say I’m a bit of everywhere. I work with AFL, which is probably my biggest passion. I love my daytime job, but it keeps me busy so I need to be super organised.

How did you get into planning?

I’ve always been crafty. I loved to make toys for myself as a kid (think dolls houses and people from corks) and as I grew up I moved to scrapbooking and card making. I took a big break from all craft for a while, but came back after I started planning to keep on top of my increasingly busy life. I was very lucky that my now husband, Ryan, took an interest in my planning and suggested that I share my planning with others, which is how my YouTube channel was born.

What products are you currently loving?

Oh everything! I adore my Planners Anon boxes because they give me so much ability to be able to really create and to push the limits of what is normal in planners. I also love my Beehaven Designz stickers - they are beautifully designed, printed and cut which makes them a joy to use.

I am a kikki.K rings girl, but I’m coming around to using TN’s which are really changing the way I think about planning. I have two TN’s that are my faves at the moment, one Mumsy & Bub and my Hello Universe one from Planners Anon.

My favourite new find are the Lily+Lion hand drawn mini icon stickers. They are adorable and suit my planning style in my Social Media planner perfectly!

What are your best tips and tricks for achieving planner peace?

There are no rules when it comes to planning! Try different things, see what works for you and never be afraid to experiment. The best thing with decorating planner weeks is really that if you mess something up, its just paper! It can always be changed or re-done and even if it can’t.. you only have to see it for a week and then you can turn the page.
